Second Intra-Task Meeting of Task XI on Industry-Based Biorefineries

Hybrid Workshop / In-person location at Messe CCongress Graz, in conjunction with 3rd International Sustainable Energy Conference (ISEC), 10-11 April 2024

The focus will be on the design of biorefinery strategy decision-making platforms. We will use as a case study I-BIOREF, a best-in-class decision-making platform that calculates a range of economic and other metrics to support decision-makers in comparing and selecting biorefinery solutions. Each of our 3 Task XI Sub-Tasks (DSS Ex-Ante Decision-Making, Net Zero Biorefineries, Circular Bioeconomy and Industrial Symbiosis) will facilitate sessions to discuss dimensions of biorefinery decision-making, and workshop attendees will discuss ways to link these discussions to the I-BIOREF platform. The workshop will seek to consider the state-of-the-art in practical systems engineering tools, and how these can be used in biorefinery strategy decision-making.
