Task XXIV – Second Annual Intra-Task Meeting
Start date 2026-10-30 13:30
End date 2026-10-30 15:00
The second annual intra-Task meeting of IETS Task XXIV will take place on 30 October 2026, from 13:30 to 15:00 (CET), during the IBBCE 2026 conference (https://ibbce.com/) in Seville, Spain. Participants can join in-person or online. The meeting will be also recorded.
During the meeting, we will follow up on the recent modelling experiences of each consortium and on the documentation status of the starting-point model(s) indicated in the past survey. Many of you have already clarified the publication status of your model(s) and are moving towards sharing them.
Agenda
- Task XXIV activities in 2026: welcome to new participants and institutions, timeline, dissemination events and reporting (5 min).
- Short presentations by the participant countries (5 to 7 min each), covering the following points (please confirm by 29 October your 5-slides presentation):
a. Model description: industrial sector or energy technology, modelling paradigm (equation-oriented, sequential modular, surrogate, etc.) and software.
b. Documentation status of your starting-point model: identification of (meta)data, model representation (black, grey or white box) and connectors descriptions (what are the model’s external interfaces with the rest of the world? how could others ‘plug’ it into their exploratory analyses?)
c. Validation method (literature, experiments or industrial data), anonymization (if needed), disclosure level (L0 to L6), confidentiality and license.
d. Proposed KPIs to visualize, benchmark and evaluate the ex-ante model(s) performance in the context of process integration and decarbonization.
f. Next model(s) to be documented, selected from your ongoing or completed projects.
3. Task XXIV website. A group of participants has volunteered to set up a first version of the infrastructure for hosting the shared ex-ante models. It will store metadata (authorship, versioning, etc.) and modelling information. It will also offer search, change tracking, visualization and download functions, with links to external repositories such as LAPSE, Zenodo, arXiv, and institutional repositories (10 min feedback).
4. Potential publication of the documented models in indexed open-source journals or archives that issue DOIs: implications, support, maintenance and visibility (10 min).
5. Contributions to the Annual report and ExCo: Industrial cases, Success stories, Publications and Events, Networking, Impact (5 min).
6. Any other business (5 min).
