6th TCP Universal – Strengthening International Collaboration
For 50 years, Technology Collaboration Programmes have played a crucial part in advancing international energy goals. On 8-9 June, the IEA gathered Chairs and Secretaries from most TCPs along with CERT and Mission Innovation delegates for two days of dialogue, networking and showcasing best practices at the IEA headquarters in Paris.
IETS Chair Johanna Mossberg, Vice-Chair René Hofmann and Heléne Johansson from the IETS Secretariat represented the IETS TCP at the meeting.
“There are no shortcuts to the energy transition!”, says the IETS Chair. “This week at the TCP Universal Meeting in Paris, one thing stood out clearly: international collaboration is not optional – it’s now more than ever essential.
The Executive Director of IEA, Fatih Birol, both gave a keynote and took his time to answer some questions. He emphasized the importance and severeness of the ongoing energy crisis, stressing the importance – and opportunity – for transition from fossile dependence. Dr. Birol also highlighted that trust and international collaboration are critical going forward – there are no national solutions to a global challenge.
