Switzerland has joined!
We are happy to announce that, as from now, Switzerland is a full member of the IETS TCP.
The Government of Switzerland has signed the Implementing Agreement (the legal text for our collaboration programme) and Swiss organisations will join the ongoing work in Task XIX, Electrification in Industry, Task XXI, Net-zero Industrial Processes in a Circular Economy Framework and Task XXIV, Process Integration for Industry Decarbonization. Dr Elena-Lavinia Niederhäuser, Swiss Federal Office of Energy SFOE, will represent Switzerland in the IETS ExCo.
“We are thrilled that Switzerland has decided to participate in our work – both at Goverment level and with projects in our Tasks”, says Chair Johanna Mossberg. “We have had positive discussions and we really look forward to the Swiss contributions.”
Professor François Maréchal, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, has been scoping Task XXIV for some time and will now be leading that Task. Since 2020, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts has been a sponsor to the IETS TCP and a research group from the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture has participated in Annex XV – Industrial Excess Heat Recovery.
“Overall, we see an increased interest in our work from several new countries and we hope to bring at least one more country onboard this year”, concludes Dr Mossberg.
