24th IETS ExCo Meeting

The 24th IETS ExCo Meeting was hosted by the Swedish Energy Agency in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 17-18 May 2017. A two-page summary from the meeting can be found here. Before the meeting there was a joint wokshop with the IEA Bioenergy TCP.

With more than 60 participants, the theme of the workshop was The role of industrial biorefineries in a low carbon economy. There were two plenary sessions during which eight invited speakers gave presentations interposed with two interactive discussion sessions as follows:

• Biorefinery developments plenary presentations
• Interactive workshop on strategic biorefinery developments
• How to overcome deployment barriers for bioreineries
• Interactive workshop on deployment barriers and actions

The workshop concluded with a short summary and conclusions.
