Final Report: Lessons Learned and Created Values by Digitalization
Subtask 3 of Task XVIII -Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence and Related Technologies for Energy Efficiency and GHG Emissions Reduction in Industry focused on exploring the transformative role of digitalization in enhancing energy efficiency, operational performance, and sustainability within energy-intensive industries. Through real-world applications of digital tools such as digital twins and energy flexibility frameworks, the task identified key lessons learned, demonstrated value creation, and proposed scalable solutions to address industrial and environmental challenges.
In conclusion, Sub-Task 3 demonstrated the value of digitalization as a practical and scalable approach to achieving energy efficiency and sustainability goals. Its findings provide actionable insights and tools for industries, policymakers, and researchers, laying the foundation for continued innovation and broader adoption of digital solutions in energy-intensive sectors.
